These instructions will walk you through the few steps required to install the system. Note that this system is compatible with all versions of the Z3, Z3 Coupe and M Roadster or M Coupe, regardless of model year or headlight variation.
The kit is very easy to install. But you must take your time. It is suggested that you wear eye protection when installing the system if your product is fitted with the optional DDE Lightning Plus™rings. All fluorescent lamps contain small amounts of the element Mercury. If you break a ring do not blow the debris away

2) I did this install on a US spec 2005 BMW Z4. I do NOT know if it will work on BMW’s from other countries.
3) This install did NOT work because my Z4 already had an auto top down feature from BMW that is conflicting with the E-Open. In order to get this to work in my car I have to find out

Read these instructions from start to finish twice before you even go near the car! Professional installation is recommended for those who are unfamiliar with car audio. These instructions assume you have already installed your new amplifier.
Remove the old enclosure

1.) Remove seat. Remove tail section
screws as shown in the photo, pull slightly forward to release the tab and
remove the tail section cover. Remove the front airbox cover/side cover. Pull out the battery and disconnect it.

The Parts Needed to Install The On-Board Computer (OBC)
On-Board Computer/Clock. It should have 2 buttons: S/R and clock. If it shows only the clock, it should be coded. If you have found one which works as OBC (shows more than just a clock) then it will work with any car, however, the computations of fuel consumption will be based on that car it is taken from. To change the settings you will have to code it.

This DIY covers the install of Euro-spec CELIS (aka Angel Eye or halo) assemblies on a pre-2001 E39 to mimic the newer-style 2001+ E39 head lights. Note that the Euro-spec a ssemblies do not have the small side parking indicator, which is required for DOT-approval.

The front fascia is removed for baseplate installation. No holes to drill. The BX8869 is available for the vehicle. Attachment Tabs are 18 inches center to center and a height of 10 1/2 inches. Using the 30 Torx, remove the bolts from the top side of fascia. Remove the three metric bolts from the bottom side of fascia with the 10MM socket. Also remove two phillip’s screws.

The BMW-AUX will convert the CD changer port of any 1995-2003 BMW radio with to an auxiliary input.
DO NOT force connectors together as pin damage may occur. This installation will be flawless if you take your time making the connections described below. Following the installation sequence below is critical to ensure proper recognition of the CD changer by the factory radio.

Installation procedures:
1. Jack the car up and support it on the jacking points under each sill. Remove the engine undertray by removing the 16 8mm bolts. On the 135, one of the bolts is at the inside rear edge of the wheel arch on each side. The others are quite obvious.

It took me about 4 hours to complete the installation. The hardest part was the installation of the overhead console. The BMW Installation Instructions states the average installation time for the whole kit as 2.5 hours. I took my time to make sure that it’s done right and not damage the interior or headliner. If your headliner color is other than black, make sure you use a clean pair of painter’s gloves to protect the headliner from smudges. Also make sure that you label all cables and connectors as they all look alike.
