Timing Belt Removal and Installation Guide for Suzuki
If movement is required, exercise extreme caution to avoid damage caused by piston contact. 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery ground cable, 2. Loosen the fan drive belt and remove the bolts securing the radiator fan shroud and cooling fan. 3. Remove the shroud fan. 4. Remove the accessory drive belts and the water pump pulley.
Camshaft sprocket timing mark. 1.3L SOHC engine, models built before June 1993. Crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt, Punch mark, Arrow mark, crankshaft timing belt. Valve lash adjustment. 1994 and earlier 1.3 L SOHC engine. On the sidekick models, follow this guide : Install the fan shroud.
