Timing Chain Tensioner for Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7
For removal and installation procedures for the Number 1 Timing Chain Tensioner, refer to the Engine Mechanical Section of the applicable Suzuki Service Manual. Reseal front timing chain cover as outlined in TSB 06 02244R2. TENSIONER ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (#1) CLOSE-UP OF TENSIONER ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (#1) LOWER RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF ENGINE. FRONT TIMING CHAIN COVER RESEAL 1. Clean sealing surface on timing chain cover, crankcase, cylinder block and cylinder heads.
Remove oil, old sealant, and dust from sealing surface. 2. Apply sealant “A”: Suzuki Bond 1207F (#99000-31250) to timing chain cover sealing surface area as shown in the figure. Ensure proper sealant bead. Do not over apply.
